The Chaffey Joint Union High School District would like to inform our students and families about a few exciting upcoming college and career fair events.
- The first is the 10th Annual Latino College Expo taking place on Saturday, September 16 from 10am-2pm on the campus of Cal Poly Pomona. This event is free for all students and families and Seniors are encouraged to bring 10-15 copies of their transcript as qualified students can earn on-spot acceptances, win scholarships, find out about DACA, DREAM Act and more! Students interested must register in advance for this event by clicking on this LINK or by scanning the QR code on the Latino College Expo Flyer attached to this message. Students and families are encouraged to drive together to this event.
- Next, the Chaffey Joint Union High School District is working in partnership with Fontana Unified School District to sponsor this year’s Regional College & Career Fair. The Regional College and Career Fair will take place on Wednesday, September 20 at the Ontario Convention Center from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm. We expect representatives from approximately 100 colleges and universities to be in attendance for this event which is free to all students and their families. Students must register for this event by completing this FORM. Parents and students are encouraged to drive together on their own to this event. However, students can indicate if they need to ride the bus to and from this event when filling out the registration form.
- Lastly, in continued collaboration with the Fontana Unified School District, we have partnered with the United College Action Network, Inc. (UCAN) to bring the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Recruitment Fair to Colony High School on Thursday, September 21 from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm. With this great opportunity, we are expecting over 30 HBCU’s to be in attendance with many offering on the spot admissions, fee waivers and possible scholarships for eligible students! Due to this, current 11th and 12th grade students ONLY are invited to attend this event. We encourage seniors to bring at least 10-15 copies of their unofficial transcripts for the university recruiters to review as needed. Students must register in advance for this event by clicking on this LINK or by scanning the QR code on the UCAN HBCU Flyer attached to this message. Please note that students attending this event, which is during the school day and on a school campus, must ride the school bus to this event during their schools assigned/scheduled time. Please see your school’s administration to see what time your school is scheduled to attend this event.
